Hey guys! I know many of you have been anxious to see the results to the giveaway. ;)
Now, before I move on to announcing the winner, I'd like to digress onto the past week and some very important thoughts!
Is Greg trying to make me look bad?! As many of you may already be aware, Greg is NOT Korean.
He wrote my mom a card in Korean, and the penmanship is way better than mine. I actually have to admit, this is darn cute! The second I saw this note I melted and giggled. So did the rest of my family. :P
The more adorable thing is that he didn't write the typical "happy mother's day", but he wrote "It's mother's day" instead--probably because it was easier for him haha.
Last night we had some mean Asado feast going on! Greg and my bro-in-law spent a while in the drafty weather grilling the meat.
Asado is basically Argentinean style BBQ. YUM!
We all enjoyed this time pampering my mom with service-- something she never receives simply because she doesn't allow herself to receive. She just doesn't let herself rest. Ah, rest....such an unknown phenomenon in our rushed culture. Yet, such an essential aspect of life for every human being.
I mean, even God wanted to rest after calling everything into existence. Of course, He didn't rest because He was fatigued from a long day of work, but simply because He desired to marvel at His own creation! *gasp*
Everyday I pray for my parents that they'll know God's love. They've always been such busy people people without ever taking a vacation for at least 20 long years.
I love them so much, I truly do...I pray that they will know what it means to rest in God's arms, and my daily hope is that they will rest physically as well as emotionally.
We were all so glad that mom was willing to be served last night! I honestly think that her love language is the language of service, despite her never admitting the fact.
Like I often mention, rest is so precious.
Time with our loved ones is incomparable to anything out there, and like I've once heard someone say, "It's not about how long we live, but how full we live." And this entails how we love others as we love ourselves.
Serving others--whether they're people we know or people we've just met--is infinitely better than serving ourselves.
As Jesus clearly stated, "the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many..." -Matthew 20:28-
This is how I want to live my life--at least to the best of my abilities! :D
Pheww....thank you for bearing with me as I divulge my scattered thoughts, and now onto the winner!!!

By the way, I have a nut butter recipe to share with you soon. ;)
