Hi friends, how are you doing?! I hope your Father's Day was amazing and beautiful with your loved ones! Daniel wants to say hi to you by the way...except, I'm putting his picture without telling him shhhhh ;) I bet when he grows up he'll see this post and complain to me haha.
And he got a haircut! Dahhhhh!!! Doesn't he look so pinch-ably adorable?
Sometimes, interacting with Daniel and seeing how patient we must be with him, makes me wonder how in the world God loves us so much! Not that we don't love Daniel! We obviously do. However, seeing how we want the best for him reminds me that God is ever so patient with us, and He will do everything within His power to show us His everlasting love.
Anyhow, I have a confession to make.
Boy is that line used a lot in the blogging world! Or is it just me? Haha. And no, don't get too excited because my confession isn't something gossip-worthy or tres exciting. :P
I have a really bad habit of not getting enough sleep. There, I said it.
As much as I want to be perfect and seem as if I am the healthiest person in the world (which I am not), I struggle with going to bed early and waking up physically refreshed.
I can be rather disciplined with most things in my life; for example, I exercise religiously and eat rather healthy and wholesome food.
The most delicious (to me) protein pancake recipe with Artisana's coconut butter!
I've also been juicing a lot these days! Lizzy's dad is an oriental medicine doctor and I'm learning so much about the benefits!! There are so many healing and illness-preventing qualities to juicing fruit & veggies. Also, it's a great way to get our vitamins in.
Today I completed two Nike Training workouts and I almost died! I did the 15 minute Ab Burner as well as the Leg Sculptor. I just love the sensation of sweating bucket loads after some good activity! I think I could have actually wrung up my shirt. Ewww sorry about that description hah!
As you can see, I've been eating, drinking, and exercising rather well! :D
Now going back to sleeping patterns...
It has come to my attention that lately I've been feeling rather fatigued physically. It goes beyond the fact that I exercise often. When I wake up in the morning, I'm quite exhausted and I feel like I've been hit by a train! I know that this is a result of not sleeping when I should.
Please don't take this as a complaint, but rather as a way to keep me accountable, thank you very much. :D
Luckily, my other healthy patterns make up for the lost sleep, but I know that I should start sleeping at least before 12 a.m.! I realize that if I don't begin taking care of this issue, I will not function optimally nor be in my best service to God or to others.
You know what?! I'll make this a CHALLENGE TO MYSELF!!!! YEAP, THAT'S WHAT I'LL DO! WAHOOO! I'M READY FOR THIS! Kind of.
Goal-making isn't usually my thing so this is a great feat for me. ;)
The Snack that Changed It All--Dates stuffed with coconut butter!
Seriously, I'm not pulling your leg!! It is so delicious, so go and make this ASAP.
Basically, I just slit a Medjool Date and stuffed it with Artisana's coconut butter. Then, I recommend freezing it for 5 minutes and the butter will harden right away. Coconut butter melts easily and freezes rather quickly. The chewy texture of the date along with the crunchy butter is divine! The end.
I hope you have a blessed evening and God bless you in all your endeavors!! I love you all, oh yes I do.
P.S: There are quite a few exciting decisions for me this summer. I'm praying in regards to certain ways of volunteering and getting involved in LA. We'll see how that goes! ;)
Fill in the blank: "I promise to myself that I'll try to change my ______ habit. And if I don't succeed, I'll try again!"
Why do you eat right (if you do) and exercise?
-I do it because it helps me to function optimally and take care of God's gift to me. Also, I get motivated by thinking about my future children! I want to give birth well and strong! Is that weird or what?! :P
