Wowiieee my friends!! The world is sure bright!! :D Is this how all of you 20/20-ers see the world?! How are you all this morning? I pray that all your endeavors will be blessed today.
Thank you for the comments from my last post about getting Lasik.
So I finally did it! I have never experienced such a crazy, unique (insert scary), and invasive thing in my whole entire life!
Before going to the Lasik Center I had a bowl of delicious oats topped with Liberte yogurt and my new Artisana Coconut Butter! It really does make everything taste creamier.
As the surgery started, Dr. Joseph fortunately always told me exactly what I would feel and hear with the upcoming process.
*******Note: If you get easily squeamish feel free to jump onto the parts after the bullet points!!!******
- vacuum-like noises
- splish-splosh sounds from making an incision? ( I think that's what it was for)
- sandpaper machine type noise with a high pressure that nearly blackened out my vision
- flattening out my corneal flap at the end...
- and much more...
Thank you for the support guys! :)
This was me before the surgery. I have to admit I was a bit nervous and excited all at the same time.
Glasses and contacts, you have served me well even though you (I'm talking to you contacts!) have for years haunted me with allergic reactions. We all have to part at one point right? So goodbye!!!!!!!
After the numbing drops wore off, my eyes started to pulsate and sting as if someone had stuck a piece of onion into my eyeballs haha. It was very fun.
As soon as I got home I had a smoothie bowl+beans, and then I went to sleep for 5 hours.
Miraculously, the pain was all gone!
I basically have to be careful and stay out of direct sunlight as much as possible.
I'm about to go to the post-surgery checkup and we shall go from there! I truly cannot begin to thank God for providing this opportunity!
I'm also so very thankful to my parents because they have been saving up for this procedure and gave it to me as a "gift." According to my dad it was a gift at first, but my mom scolded him and told him it's not even a gift, just a MUST for their precious daughter! Hahaha, and so he changed his mind and when I thanked him he gave me the usual "ahhhhh what do you need to thank us for??" Oh silly korean parents. Always so modest.... :P
By the way! This arrived in the mail yesterday!!
I cannot wait to try it and I'll be telling you all about it soon. Can I say that Boku's 1-2 day shipping is really awesome?! They really kept their word and sent it to me within one and a half days. Boku, you did a great job.
This morning is just beautiful--it's great to see the world through brighter eyes physically and spiritually.
My devotional today says this:
"Jacob has lived a life of control and manipulation. Yet, there is something in Jacob God finds worthy of redemption. He has a heart that genuinely wants to serve and be used of God. But God must do something in him to chisel away the bad traits in his life.
He sends an angel in the form of a man to wrestle away the striving in Jacob. The only way to remove the striving in Jacob is to injure his physical abilities. "When the angel saw that he could not overpower him, he touched the socket of Jacob's hip so that his hip was wrenched as he wrestled with the man'" (Gen 32:25-26). Jacob's natural abilities were so great that God literally had to make Jacob a weaker man physically in order for God's power to be manifested in his life. When this happened a turning point took place in Jacob. A new nature was birthed in him that required a total trust in God."
This is just beautiful. My friend, if you are struggling in any way (because we all do) then just know that God chisels away at our hearts so that He can create a greater and more refined masterpiece within us. He's not out there to haunt us, but to ravish us in His amazing love. He wants the best for you and for me. The end. :P
