Hi everyone! I'm glad that many of you thought the Cinna-Roll Bread Puddin' "looked" delicious, because it sure is. ;)
Today was a rather chill day and I had the luxury to make a nice wholesome lunch. I just love eating lots of veggies especially at lunch.
That's millet cooked with water and tamari sauce, curry+paprika kale chips, roasted vegetables topped with hummus, and a side of my mom's pan-fried tofu dipped in Korean-style soy sauce. The sauce, by the way, tastes amazing!
I always NEED to even out my food and finish everything paired in twos or threes. Hence, I ended up wrapping the millet with a bunch of dried seaweed! Mmmm it brought some childhood memories!! You Koreans know what I'm talking about ehh? Haha! :P
And guess what I did today!
Okay I'm sure that was too quick to even think.
I mentioned once that I'm quite spontaneous when it comes to almost anything really, and that includes working out and staying active.
I suddenly started to miss doing yoga as I haven't done it in a formal setting for at least 2 years! So to the yoga studio I went. :) Besides, I was starting to feel very muscle heavy the past few days and needed something to physically stretch me and lighten my body up.
This place is called Purple Yoga and they have a few locations in Orange County. Two years ago, I used to do Bikram Yoga but they changed it to Purple and I like the classes even more now! Whoo whooo it was so fun! They have 7 different types of classes, and I went to the Red Series.
It was so great to be back, that the 70 minutes zipped by just like that.
AHEM...I usually don't take pictures like these because I feel awkward! Hehehe. Here I'm totally not sweaty and excited to go get my yoga on!
I'm wearing my oh-so-comfy Under Armour tank.
There were so many new to me poses and I loved the challenge of the Red Series! It was a lot of "strength training" type holds, yet every one of them flowed nicely with each other. It was the whole shabanng of Vynyasa, downward dog, and lotus pose.
After leaving a nice, well earned sweat puddle on my mat, I got to know some really cool people! I just love meeting new people.
A woman who has Fibromyalgia has been practicing for a while, and had the discipline to come even though she hasn't been feeling well! God bless her heart! And she has some mad discipline don't you think? :D
Eeek! Not really an attractive photo, but I left feeling super relaxed physically (And RED in the face), and now I feel like I'm going to sleep like a baby....:P
What a privilege to even have the luxury to exercise and pay to do something like yoga. I thank God for even this opportunity! I don't want to get all sappy on you, but I don't think it's silly that I want to thank Him for providing the small things, to the great things in life.
Oh, by the way. I want to share this amazingly cute and funny video that Greg made. It's really funny to us because that's how silly we actually are in real life! Even the water comment is real-life based, as is the "wait...you know..." lines. I say "you know" way more than I should..you know?
stranded Check the video out if you want a good laugh. Or maybe it's just me who laughs.
How do you actually embed a video in the posts? I really have no idea :P
Today I am reminded that bodily wellness encompasses so many aspects of fitness. Heck, it encompasses a slew of things in life!
To stay in shape and strong, I believe that it's important to have cardio, strength training, AND agility+flexibility.
Of course, this isn't the end of it all. Wellness as a whole ideally includes the acronym PEMS: physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual health. None of us is perfect in any one of these areas, but we are made to be whole in every aspect and therefore, should progressively work towards those goals.
I always say this, but I truly wish you a beautiful day full of blessings and love! Take care of yourself okay?? And love like there's no tomorrow!
Do you yoga? What kind is your fave?
What words/phrases do you say all the time and just can't stop saying?
Grace & Peace,
