Hello hello world~! How is this week treating you? :) This morning I woke up not craving anything. Weird, I know! The one thing that did sound somewhat good was Raspberry oatmeal topped with Cinnamon Cake pieces, Oatmeal Squares, coconut butter, and SSB.
Lately, I have been getting some wildly vivid dreams and my appetite hasn't been the same as usual.
Perhaps my lack of restful sleep is due to our whole family moving to another apartment. That also means downsizing and going through more transitions than I would like to, and come our wedding day, Greg and I will be at our own home.
I personally love transitions and am a firm believer that change is vital to our growth--for without it, we can't expect to mature in different areas of our lives.
Despite all this, I am praying that God help me remain grateful and at peace with my family because it can definitely get hectic. He promises us rest throughout every season and this one is no different!
Last weekend my family, Greg and I went to a wedding together.
*sigh* I know I know, I hope you're not sick of hearing about weddings by now! So just FYI and a friendly warning, I will be talking about weddings quite a bit!! After all, our actual set date is March 24th. So that is pretty far from now.
You either stay with this blog now, or never. Hah! Just kidding. But quite frankly, I think I will always love weddings and they will sporadically make an appearance for as long as I blog. That is all. :P
Madre and I at the wedding site's parking lot (CSULB's Earl Burns Japanese Garden). Doesn't she have a sweet smile?
This celebratory day was for Christina and George, George being my cousin--one of the few relatives I've ever known.
In Greg's words: "Huhh? A picture already? Hold on lemme get my stuff ready first." :P I used to be a camera-phobic but I guess things change.
I understand if you have to drool and go googoogahgah over your keyboard! Isn't my nephew Daniel just so adorable?! His tie was matching his daddy's. I may be his aunt, but I think we all agree his cuteness is hard to get over. ;)
Earl Burns Miller Japanese Garden is such a gorgeous place where one just wants to take in the beauty of it all.
The pond is filled with large Koi Fish which we were allowed to feed throughout the evening.
As soon as we stepped into the garden, this cake was patiently waiting to greet us all. I love the simple and natural design on it! I have to admit, I was more than excited to finally taste the cake!!
Christina is so clever and creative that she practically made all the details DIY.
Greg and I were pretty stoked about the cute handmade programs which were shaped like handheld fans. It took us back to our mission trip to India last summer! Much nostalgia followed shortly. *sniff*
Christina looked beyond gorgeous in her princess-like gown and hairdo. The whole experience seemed like it was out of a fable story.
As the bride and groom were saying their vows, the bride was trying to hold back her tears as she choked on her words. It made me think of how I would respond when I am in that position not long from now. Perhaps I'll cry, perhaps I'll laugh! I would rather respond with the latter because I don't like crying, although I often do. :P
The beef was so tender, juicy, and perfectly seasoned! It was one of those meats that "stay" with your taste buds and you just crave it even days after.
Yeah, I suggest no one mess with my dad because he's got some powers y'all. :D
As for our wedding venue, I will be making a decision tonight! Woot!
And I am very excited to finally get that [big] detail down on hard copy. Once this is taken care of, it should definitely be so much easier to plan for the other logistics.
In the meantime I will be pinning things up on Pinterest for some DIY ideas. Are you on Pinterest?! If so, let's be friends!
Hope you have a blessed day and keep in touch! Some reviews will be coming up soon.
Do you consider yourself an emotional person? If so, when does it happen the most?
-For me, it's when I pray to God, when I see injustice, when I witness people living on the streets/ill, and so forth. Oh, and when my loved ones are struggling! So I guess I can cry pretty much about anything. ;)
What was the highlight of your weekend?
Can you take a guess as to which venue we're choosing?
