Oh my goodness gracious! Somebody, please help me avoid getting facial wrinkles from having the dorkiest-grin-ever due to the best steal I could find for my wedding decorum!
Haha yeah, I realize that was an oddly structured sentenced and quite a long one, too. :)
But I bet you would be ecstatic and smiling just as dorkily (is that not a word?) as I am if you were to find this beauty:

Yeap, and I truly did feel like I was in a dream or flying high on cloud 9! ;)
Not long after church was over and had a late lunch with Greg, I headed over to the Downtown Fullerton area to check out some antique shops, as there are at least 4 of those in Fullerton. I realized that these shops close rather early, so I peeked in and saw some pretty cool vintage furniture items!
Why am I searching for vintage-type decor for my wedding? Well that's because our theme is somewhere along the lines of a "secret garden". I say that it's along the lines because I'm willing to be flexible and just go with whatever good stuff I find!
Now, going back to my awesome cheap wedding decor story...
I found these goodies when I went to the Brea Mall with the intention of buying wedges to match my wedding gown.
Lo and behold, I got distracted as usual by the store Country Collections. Whenever I visit the mall, I almost always make a stop at this cute boutique. Although I'm really happy that there was a huge 25-50% sale going on, I'm not so happy for them that they had no other choice but to hold this sale event. They will be closing down within a few months. :( I hope everything turns out well for the owners!
These pictures do the items no justice in terms of size, numbers, and beauty! Hah! There are actually more things that I photographed, but they ended up coming out less than appealing.
That criss-cross thing made out of wood at the left hand side, is a stretchable wall display to hand mugs, jewelry, keys, you name it! I'm thinking that it would make a great addition to the reception party if I pimp it with lots of "garden-ish" decorations.
I am also in love with that cute yellow "welcome" box pictured at the bottom, especially since it only cost me $1.25! Perhaps this could go on the guest book signing table?
Then there's that cool tea bag holder that I didn't even know existed, but I guess people do use it. Along with all this, I purchased some tiny baskets like that red one because I'm thinking of making my own centerpieces. Hopefully these baskets will make for a good base to start with. I'm just not sure what exactly I'll do with them.
In conclusion, I am proud to report that today's wedding decor purchase (which is originally worth $150) only cost me $75!!! Wahooo for cheap stuff!
Can you tell that I'm excited and having so much fun? ;) I tell ya, shopping around on a tight wedding budget is a lot more fun than it sounds, because it allows me to come up with creative ideas.
All that walking and hauling stuff around made me ravenous!
So as soon as I got home, I made myself the easiest and quickest meal in the world aside from a bowl of salad. I topped a Mediterranean flat bread with Havarti cheese, TJ's marinara sauce, hummus, and fresh basil. Then, I baked it in the toaster oven for approximately 6 minutes and served it with a side of roasted broccoli.
Oh yeah...that...you're asking me about the fish with an ugly burnt head? But it was delicious!
If you know me well enough, you would probably know that fish is one of the foods that I cannot live without! It's also very "Asian" and "Korean" to keep the fish whole at the dinner table--head, tail, fish eggs and all.
I realize that this may seem strange to most of you and perhaps only 1% of you eat fish like this, but we Koreans know how to be resourceful with our food--that is, if resourceful is what you want to call this barbarianism. :P
How was YOUR weekend?
What other components or decorum do you think would go into a "secret garden theme"?
-I'm planning to watch clips from the film Secret Garden to get more inspiration
Any ideas as to how I can use those cute little baskets? Or for the centerpieces?
Have an amazing start of the week!
