Hello everyone, happy Tuesday!!! :D What are you so happy about with that dorky smile?! *Berrrnnnnttt*
Well, I believe that everyday, no matter what good or bad may happen, can be beautiful if I only keep my eyes on God. Granted, I can have my terrible days when nothing seems to be able to cheer me up. And perhaps some people may be having a day filled with hopelessness because they might have lost a job, or they just received bad news from the doctor, or...who knows what it might be?! (I don't want to give too many examples as I wouldn't want to project the unimaginable. :))
On the flip side, all things have a bright side to them.
The funny thing is that, only God knows the true meaning and beauty behind all of those hard seasons in life. And the way to find out what that so-called bright side? It's to come to the One who actually has the answers and asking Him to reveal His abounding love and purpose in our lives!
He is always in the business of making our lives better, not ruining them...so if you are in what we call a "desert" in your life, just know that He has a reason for allowing such things to happen.
I always love to use this analogy:
Being in the desert is somewhat of a blessing, because that's where all of the greatest leaders in the Bible have triumphed in the Lord. The more dry and thirsty a tree is in a deserted land, the more its roots will grow and dig deep in order to get that water. Because it is drying and withering away, it needs to get every bit of drink it can get in order to survive. Thus, its roots break through any hardened clay and soil, while becoming stronger and solid in its foundation. We're like those trees. Constantly searching for that water of life, the water that can quench our thirst that keeps us striving for so much of our lives, and most of the time, to no avail. But as our roots grow deeper in God, the stronger our faith in Him will become.
He loves you more than you can ever imagine, and He longs to spend time with you (and me) in prayer!
Trusting in something or someone we can't see is probably the most difficult skill we can acquire in life; however, it's not impossible. Because after all, "faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen." ~Hebrews 11:1~
I honestly have no idea where all that came from! But I know that God would have wanted me to share those thoughts. And after having written all of this, I realize that there are so many people who might be needing to hear a word of encouragement or two at this time, because life can sometimes be crazy. Don't we all agree? :P
Last night I went grocery shopping because I was in dire need of fresh fruit and salad items. Okay, and I also couldn't resist getting the So Delicious "ice cream" and Nutella! Haha.
I got the big Nutella that was on sale because I'm planning on making something with it for the wedding favors!! I don't want to disclose exactly what I'm thinking of doing because some friends read this blog. However, I would like feedback and ideas from you because I'm still kind of double-minded regarding the wedding favors!
Get this, when I told our wedding photographer [James] what I wanted to make, he shot back with a gentle, "wow...you're so healthy!!!" :P And that's mainly why I'm not so sure about the original plans anymore.
- Tofutti (Vegan cream cheese for desserts maybe?)
- Earth Balance
- almond milk
- fresh strawberries (kind of tart!)
- big honkin' Texas grapefruit
- Safflower oil
- buy 1 get 1 free Sargento's Muenster cheese
- Orowheat English Muffins
- So Delicious
- blood-orange Chobani! (excited to try it!)
Normally I would purchase something like Rudi's Spelt English muffins instead of the Orowheat kind because my stomach doesn't seem to cramp up at all. But I was too tired to drive to Mother's Market and instead went to Alberstons, where Orowheat seems to be easier to find than the alternatives. The Double Fiber from Orowheat, however, is actually pretty good compared to the other brands out there in my opinion!
This morning's breakfast was good and satisfying! I smeared the muffins with TJ's sunflower butter, a teeny bit of Nutella (muahaha!), bananas, Greek Yogurt, cinnamon, and chia seeds. Let me tell you that the mixture of sweet Nutella and tart Greek Yogurt is amazing!!! I highly recommend that you give it a try.
With a side of coffee spiked with almond milk
This 25-30 lb. box filled with huge tree slabs arrived yesterday! Any guesses what they might be for? ;)
I have a busy day ahead of me, so I'm thinking of doing this routine that looks really fun, and I have to admit that it's a really new type of training for me. Thanks to Jenny, I can now work on my gracefulness and poise, hah!
This Express 10 minute video is in my schedule today since it's super short and I don't have to jump around and go to the gym, but it will probably kill my lower body! You know how some exercise regimens look easy peasy but in actuality, they leave you wiped out? I bet this one is just like that. And not to sound like a nag, but remember, something is always better than nothing! Keep that blood pumpin' and flowin'.
Have a beautiful day and love y'all!
Are you good at eating tart things, when they're supposed to be sweet?
What favor ideas do you suggest with Nutella?
What sweet treat do you like to buy from the store, if at all?
What's the last workout that left you wiped out and you thought it'd be easy?
