In order to attain that enchanting flavor and texture of their signature crust, I figured that Biscoff cookies would do the trick. Not only that, but the addition of molasses and honey give it the most ethereal, profound dimensions within every bite and, to top it off, the filling is superlatively rich and dense compared to other pumpkin pies I’ve tried in the past…Read More
The moment Greg and I began to lightly converse about future children during our courting years, my doubts of parenthood dissolved into a blessed assurance. As I fast forward to today I have tears of joy (not kidding) when I reflect on the blessings I've found in our little clan of four. It's the trivial things in life that get me every time. Be that as it may, I find continual wonder and admiration in my heart towards the example Greg has set for Selah and Tabitha.Read More
I think it’s safe to say that most of us are encouraged by sweet hand written notes—an art that has become somewhat rare in the wealthier parts of the world. Not only is receiving a hand written note a fun little treat nowadays, but it’s that much better if it was penned by only one of your favorite fitness instructors out in the market! And that is exactly what came in the mail today along with an awesome surprise for you guys. Ummm hello Leah Sarago, I’m so honored to meet you!
Perhaps that was a bit too much, but my excitement just got the best of me. Hehe.
As my token of appreciation for your wonderful friendship and constant support, I want to return that same support to you through this giveaway that I’ve been anticipating for quite a while now. After ranting on and on about how much I love Ballet Body workouts, as well as the wonders that they’ve done for my body and health throughout my pregnancy, I figured that it’s finally time to not only talk the talk, but walk the walk. So here I am working with Ms. Sarago to further promote her amazing work by helping you reach your health and fitness goals. Whatever your goals may be, I wholeheartedly believe that these Ballet Body DVDs will help you reap benefits in one form or another.
Lucky for you, Leah sent me all three of the DVDs that I’ve been raving about: Upper Body—Ultra Sleek Definition, Core—Ultimate Tummy Tightener, and Lower Body—Extreme Muscle Elongation.
One thing I would like to mention is that due to the length of these routines many people might shy away from even giving them a try. Rest assured however, that the sequences are so cleverly executed that you can pause or end your Ballet Body session at any time with the click of a button. So even though the length and uniqueness of these workouts may be a bit intimidating to most of us at first, I can guarantee that you’ll get used to them sooner than you think!
And now onto the good stuff…
To enter this giveaway you can do one or all of the things listed below, and please make sure to leave a separate comment for each bullet point:

I hope that I made the entering process as simple as possible for you guys! I will randomly choose a winner on Tuesday 4/16/13 and I’m opening this giveaway to US and non-US residents. Have fun and have a blessed day! Thank you for bringing a little bit of spice into my life, and I truly mean that.
I'm sure you already know where I'm going with this by the title of the post! I thought that a clever play of words would be much needed for this, but then I realized that the significance of the title is exciting in itself. I mean, who doesn't like a giveaway?
*cue the crickets as no one raises his/her hand and then a tumbleweed rolls by*
Believe it or not--today, January 9th 2012, marks my 1 year anniversary of blogging at Fit for the Soul! Actually it's my first year of blogging period. :)
If you know me pretty well by now, you would know that I always like to keep the suspense going and going until the very end. It keeps things more exciting you know? So I will disclose about the fun details after this bit. Plus, before I proceed any further I would like to share a little lesson I've learned. A very valuable lesson on moderation.
Oh yes, the very great and healthy idea of moderation....Don't we all need this?
I certainly do.
I purchased this stuff today because I think I did something to my shoulder while working out. Nothing else seems to explain the slight pinching discomfort I feel in my left shoulder other than the fact that I might have strained it a bit.
And here I was thinking that I was being very careful and smart about my training! It's just that whenever I work out, my mind and body get on a complete adrenaline high. Sounds scary I know. Obviously this makes me get a wee bit overexcited and then it's really easy for me to overdo it.
Talk about a humbling experience.
I find it funny that many times I need little "reminders" such as slight discomforts in order to be more careful with my body. And perhaps this is one of God's ways of reminding me to never take my eyes off of Him and on what truly matters. :P So in a way, this isn't such a bad thing at all although my shoulder is telling me otherwise.
As soon as I turned on the Christian radio today, pastor James MacDonald's voice resonated with this exact phrase: "Don't worry so much about your body and your health!" Hah! So I knew that God is telling me to have more self-control in this area of my life.
However, last night was a totally different story. My mind started catastrophizing about the pain and even made me believe that I would never be able to use my shoulder again. How silly of me.
I think that it's so important to step back, take a deep breath, and not let every negative thought flood our minds.
I guess I panicked because I never experienced any issues with my muscles before. And right away, I did what every intelligent human being shouldn't do.
If you desire to unnecessarily panic about any discomfort, then I suggest you self-diagnose through online resources. :P No, don't do it.
It apparently seems that I'm having symptoms of bursitis or a minor rotator cuff injury.
Thankfully now I am feeling a bit better, but I will keep massaging that area and keep on popping in multi-vitamins for faster healing. :D I got reminded of this because right when I began to feel the symptoms, I stumbled across Tara's post on injuries and the importance of nutrients.
Sorry that this is a never ending talk about shoulder injury! But I just wanted to share about these conditions and hopefully glean something from you (if you've experience something of the sort).
"First Birthday of FFTS" Giveaway!
I love my readers. I really really do.
Every bit of encouragement or constructive criticism is so precious to me, because that means that someone out there is showing care/concern. Perhaps it also means that I'm able to put a smile on your face through my quirky personality, and as Hannah often says, my "nincompoopiness". :P
Never in my dreams did I think that I would like blogging! To be quite frank, I always thought it was just for the nerds and computer geeks. Okay maybe some of you are nerds, but there's nothing wrong with that! I always wanted to be one myself.
To think that I've come this far because of your love and support truly boggles my mind. I mean, I am definitely not a gifted writer--nor am I the most interesting person in the world. But the fact that you still come by and greet me with fun and interactive comments always makes me smile. In fact, those tidbits of encouragement bring me back to the reasons why I blog.
- It's fun!
- I feel normal in this awesome community of healthy living+food bloggers
- It's an outlet to share my thoughts (and recipes+workouts)
- I have hopes of making a difference in someone's life
- Making so many new friends!
- It's taken me out of my comfort zone and fear of writing/being in the public's eye
- So many more reasons I can't think of because I'm pooped
So for this giveaway, there will be 2 lucky ducky winners!!!
Yeap, the 1st winner will receive all of the items pictured above.
Those items are some of my favorite foods and snacks. They are Chipotle Cheddar Pretzel Crisps, Scottish Oatmeal (so delicious and creamy!), Let's Do Organic coconut shreds (great for recipes like maccaroons), Crofter's organic apricot spread, a walnut cappuccino+coconut cashew True Bar, two Pure Bars, and 2 packets of Justin's PB.
And for the second winner, I will be giving away my favorite workout tank top by Under Armour.
Bought the tank for $11 when it was on sale! Yay.
What I love about these rib tank tops is that they absorb all my sweat, they look clean no matter how dirty they get, and they keep me cool all throughout my workout. They're also super comfortable.
So in order to enter for this item, you will need to go to the website and take a look at the wide array of colors. Once the winner is chosen, I will email you and send it over to your mailing address.
I am certain that you will love this tank as much as I do. If you are a male you can still enter and give this to your wife, girlfriend, or keep it hidden in a box until you meet "the one", hehehe.

This giveaway will end on Saturday the 14th.
Today was a great and productive day at Cameron's school, but boy am I pooped right now! I'm ever so grateful for the times when he behaves so well during exams like he has today--especially during the STAR test. Gosh, I feel for those children. Thinking of STARs and SATs gives me the heebie-jeebies. :P Although most of us have only been connected through "cyberspace" and have yet to meet face to face, I just have such a great affection for y'all, if you will.
Not only do you women AND men (if there are any out there who deny reading this blog, and I would hate to be charged for discrimination) make me smile with your enthusiasm for life, health, relationships, and so many countless of other great things you have to offer up! I dare to say that I've come to really feel a deep connection with you all that's perhaps surpassing the superficial level of relationship (at least through the internet).
I know I know...you feel the same way too...errrr *cue the crickets?!* :)
Wait, hold on! Before you click the X on this page due to apprehension of my "sappiness", let me just tell you that I've been wanting to do this forever. So you're wondering what it is, right?
I just want to show some "love" (dude what's with all the quotations today?) by hosting a giveaway to all of you readers--whether you've been reading for the past few months, or whether you're here for the first time. It's open to anyone and everyone from everywhere!
Not being exactly sure of how I wanted to show the appreciation, I thought that a giveaway would be ideal for the occasion. After all, May is a perfectly good month for giveaways. I just made that up. :D
You know how much I love certain foods like bars, nut/seed butters, grains, and all that great stuff. I put together just a few items that I thought you might like as well. If you don't like 'em, you can send 'em back to me and I'll eat it all. ;) So here goes nothing!
I realize it's a humble little giveaway, but something has to be better than nothing! Also, I haven't tried the Maranatha SSB yet. I was looking for Once Again Sunflower Butter but the store didn't carry it. However, I'm pretty sure this will be a good one too.
The package will contain:
- 3 packets of Amazing Grass
- 1 Pure Bar, Larabar, and Clif Mojo
- Maranatha SSB
- The amazing Quinoa flakes!
- And some Asian-ness with Pocky and Hello Panda for good measure
- One surprise book that has truly changed the way I see myself and others. Dun dun dun...
Here are the guidelines:
- Subscribe to my blog and comment that you've done so
- Tweet about the giveaway and comment about that too
- Simple enough! I think?
I hope a good number of you will enter to make this more exciting! I mean, the greater the challenge, the greater the fun.
This will be open until Sunday night, the 8th. I will announce the winner on Monday.
Have a sweet night and I shall talk to you soon.
Grace & Peace,
